    Potential Difference

    S.I Unit: voltage (V)

It is the amount of energy needed to move one unit charge of electricity from one point to the other. (between two points)

Just like diffusion, the charges move from higher potential energy (postive terminal) to lower potential energy (negative terminal).

    Voltage

Voltage is the amount of energy the electrons receive from a source of current.

A voltmeter is used to measure the potential difference. Smaller values are measured with millivoltmeter or microvoltmeter.

It must be connected in parallel in a circuit.

The positive terminal of the voltmeter must be connected to the positive terminal of the cell or battery. Same goes for the negative terminal.
